We offer a range of programs connected to adult and juvenile court systems, including the Maryhaven Exploring Sober Alternatives (MESA) program, the Underage Drinking Program (UDP), Juvenile Underage Drinking Program (JUDP), and the Maryhaven Young Driver Intervention (MYDI).

Maryhavenís Pubic Safety Programs include:

MESA 72 Hour Driver Intervention Program

Adults age 18 and older

Offered in English or Spanish

Maryhaven Exploring Sober Alternatives (MESA) is central Ohio's original driver intervention program for OVI and other misdemeanor alcohol/drug offenses. MESA is state certified as an alternative to incarceration and is offered in a hotel setting. MESA serves court systems throughout Central Ohio (out-of-state DUI referrals also accepted).

The fee is $310 or $300 if paid in advance, and includes program, hotel room, meals.

Underage Drinking Program (UDP)
Young adults under age 21 - one day

Offered Twice per month alternating Saturdays and Sundays

The Underage Drinking/Drug Program is a one day alcohol and drug education and intervention class for young adults,between ages  18-20,  especially (but not limited to) those charged with offenses such as underage alcohol possession, alcohol consumption, open container, false ID, attempt to purchase, and some misdemeanor marijuana and paraphernalia possession charges. UDP focuses on reduction of high-risk behavior associated with alcohol and drug use. Many Ohio municipal, mayor's courts and probation officers, plus area colleges and universities, use the Underage Drinking/Drug Program for drinking /drug offenders between the ages of 18-20. UDP is based on an international Under 21 prevention curriculum and thus does not accept OVI or DUI offenders who are referred to our 72 Hour MESA.

The fee is $125 and includes lunch.

Juvenile Underage Drinking Program (JUDP)
Ages 12-17: 1 day class +Offered Twice per month alternating Saturdays and Sundays
The Juvenile Underage Drinking/Drug Program is specially geared towards youth who are already engaged in use, have alcohol / drug related misdemeanors, school disciplinary offenses or those who may be at risk for alcohol / drug use or abuse. JUDP includes current, reality-based alcohol / other drug education while focusing on reducing high-risk choices and behavior; includes Individual Action Plans to Succeed. Our goal is to increase preventative factors in the youth's life and thus the program contains a required component for parents/caregivers. JUDP is based on our successful Underage Drinking Program for young adults under age 21, and uses the same core international prevention and education curriculum. Additional services are available if needed.

The fee is $45 and includes lunch.

Maryhaven Young Driver Intervention (MYDI)
Under age 18

Offered every other month

Youth charged with OVI, Hit Skip, Drag Racing or other infractions involving alcohol/drugs and a vehicle attend our MYDI program designed specifically to meet their needs as required by area traffic courts. This class can also be taken without a court order as a suggested prevention effort to reduce traffic fatalities, the leading cause of death for this age group. MYDI includes group processing, victim impact components, self-assessment / screening tools and includes an Individual Action Plans to Succeed designed with the facilitator.

The fee is $40; includes  lunch.
 

The 8 Hour Alcohol & Drug Education Program

The 8 Hour Alcohol & Drug Education Program is our one day alcohol and drug education and intervention class for adults, Over age 21. The 8 Hour Alcohol & Drug Education Program focuses on reduction of high-risk behavior associated with alcohol and drug use. Franklin County Courts, many other Ohio municipal, mayorís courts and probation officers, plus area colleges and universities, employers, and other programs  (i.e. domestic violence programs and anger management programs) utilize the  8-Hour Alcohol & Drug Education Program.

The 8 Hour Alcohol and Drug Education Program fee is $150, this includes lunch.
